For brain injury survivors, building a new life, a new identity and receiving the essential support and resources for recovery becomes an arduous journey and can last a lifetime. Over 17,000 Oregon residents sustain a traumatic or acquired brain injury each year. Therefore, our work assisting other peers is far from complete.
We need your help to provide resources beyond acute care and medical rehabilitation.
Since 2004, hundreds of survivors have received vital services from BIRRDsong through support meetings, workshops and community referrals and leadership development. In 2012 we will expand our level of support by providing the following services:
- Comprehensive needs assessments to provide individualized short/long term recovery plans
- Cognitive enhancement training to improve brain function long after insurance runs out
- Ongoing personalized skills development to regain life skills of goal achievement, communication, organization and planning through specialized classes and workshops.
- In-home support to remove the barrier of isolation for survivors who are primarily at home
Your generous support gift of $10, $20, $35, $50, $75 or more will benefit the lives of our members by helping us to expand our service capacity, providing:

There are several ways to show your support. Many Friends of BIRRDsong are taking advantage of our monthly gifting program, which distributes their contributions over an entire year. This way they can participate with smaller dollar amounts that fit their budget. Others are offering a one-time annual gift or quarterly donations. However you choose to support our mission, we sincerely appreciate your gifts in any amount.
You may feel that a gift of $5, $10, or $15 may not reach far enough, but every dollar you give will improve the quality of life for survivors of brain injury. No donation is too small.
